CHANDIGARH: As the sale of admission forms in government colleges reached its third day on Thursday, the situation did not appear to be improving for candidates. Colleges received 1,600 prospectuses, which was less than the demand.
''I was waiting inqueue for over an hour when they came and told us that no more forms would bearriving. They repeatedly asked us to fill the forms online,'' said PrachiMalhotra, a student.
Most centres ran out of forms by early afternoonand it was announced later that the prospectuses would only be available fromMonday.
''We waited for long only to be told to return on Monday. This is not fair. We cannot keep coming here every day,'' said a student, RanjitArora.
Parents of many students are also suffering similarly. ''I hadto give up on important appointments so I could buy the form for my daughter. But their non-availability is quite a nuisance,'' said Amarjeet Singh, agovernment employee. Principal of Government College for Girls, Sector 42, andcoordinator for the prospectuses, Mani Bedi, said, ''The problems has emergedfrom the printing press as the supply is low. We have been trying hard to get asmany copies as possible.'' ''By Monday, colleges will have sufficient number ofprospectuses,'' she added.
